Aloha!
Welcome to the Hawaii Youth Triathlon Club (HYTC). Our mission is to conduct clinics and development training for young athletes between the ages of 7-19, support a statewide race series, and send a state team to the USAT Youth National Championships. The triathlon is the perfect sport to be involved with because it challenges young athletes to cross train in three disciplines, swim-bike-run. It also involves the parents as support and training partners, and creates a positive atmosphere of both mental and physical health. Our ultimate goal is to have the triathlon recognized as a competitive sport in the schools.

NEW for the 2008 Season

Why become a member of the Hawaii Youth Triathlon Club?
Kids like to be involved with other kids doing the same thing. Beyond the social aspect, clubs provide kids with structured training opportunities. This works well for both young male and female athletes. Improvements can be made in individual training sessions, but a group setting works best with young athletes who want to maximize training.

The club is also an excellent opportunity for parents. If a parent has little or no background in triathlon, they can learn through the club's training sessions and social gatherings on how to better assist their child. They can also learn about potential overuse injuries that occur if a child does too much too soon. The club coach and parent advisory committee can talk to the parents about certain aspects of training and what we want to accomplish during group training sessions.
